Pike County Extension Office hosting Composting Class next month

On Friday March 8th, the U of A Division of Agriculture Research and Extension Office in Pike County will be hosting a Lunch and Learn Composting class.

These classes are offered to educate individuals on effective composting techniques and cover various aspects of composting, from understanding the process to practical implementation.

What is composting? It’s the process of recycling organic matter, such as food scraps, leaves, and animal products, into a fertilizer that can enrich soil and plants which also involves the decomposition of organic materials by microorganisms, worms, and other organisms.

This class will be held at the Pike County Extension Office located at 100 Court St in Murfreesboro. They want the public to know you’re welcome to bring your own lunch while learning and if you can’t attend in person there is a zoom option available.

For more information or to sign up you can 870-285-2161.
