MSHS Principal presents Park Proposal to the Mineral Springs City Council

Monday, during the Mineral Springs City Council meeting, Mayor Bobby Tullis opened the floor to Mineral Springs High School Principal JonDavid Amerson to discuss the Park Proposal from the Mineral Springs School.

Amerson even discussed First National Bank donating scoreboards for the field, the leasing agreement, and what contractors will be doing the work along with an estimate of how much the project will cost.

After hearing the proposal, Aldermen Earl Hadden asked Amerson if he could make adjustments to the lease agreement. Instead of doing 10 years, the council wants to do the lease agreement for 5 years. Other changes that Hadden requested were the use of the storage building, who’s responsible for utility payments, adding the batting cages, and putting a clause into the agreement of when this project is expected to be finished. Once these revisions are made and the city runs this proposal by Park Commission Mayor Tullis said they will try to move further with the park proposal if all goes accordingly.
