Parks and Recreation Director applying for grants for historic building repairs

Monday at the Nashville City Council regular monthly meeting, aldermen approved a motion to increase the price of renting the Nashville American Legion Hut from $100 to $200. Parks and Recreation Director Meghan Floyd reported to the council that she received a quote to fix the roof at the Legion Hut. 

According to Finance Director Kimberly Green’s report, the total revenue for the month of June was $785,741.77 and expenditures was $760,602.26. Expenditures exceeded the revenue by $25,139.51. City sales tax decreased by 2% which is $2,638 less than June 2022. County sales increased by 2% which is $1,714 more than June 2022.

Fire Chief Justin Thornton reported to the council that his department has 1 full-time firefighter that lives at the fire station in Nashville. Thorton said by having someone at the station 24/7 this would be a major help with ISO ratings.
