Nashville School Board Accepts Resignations And Transfers

Resignations of three coaching positions were accepted Monday evening during the regular April Nashville school board meeting.

Those resignations were submitted by Ted Green, who also serves as a teacher, Madie McRae as the assistant softball coach and from Rick Baker as head football coach at junior high.

McRae will be leaving her softball position to become the district’s head tennis coach.

Two other current Nashville coaches are transferring to other positions as well.

John Martin will transfer from the junior girls to the junior boys basketball coaching duties. He will also serve as an assistant football coach.

Kirk Benson will be leaving his high school football coaching position to become the junior Scrapper head football coach next season.

In other personnel matters, Kynnedi Gordon was named the junior high cheer coach.

Chris Benson was employed as a teacher and assistant coach on the high school football staff. He will also be an assistant track coach.

Brian “Boomer” Brown, a former coach in the district, is returning for the 20/21 school year. Brown’s duties include a classroom teaching position, assistant junior football coach and assistant softball coach.

There was also one other classroom teaching position filled Monday. Leslie Srong was hired for a high school math position.

Aside from these personnel changes, the board voted to re-employ all other current certified and classified staff for the 20/21 year.

Superintendent Doug Graham said additional openings are likely to be filled at next month’s board meeting.
