Hot Springs resident arrested in Pike County on multiple charges

A Hot Springs resident has been charged with felony counts, including possession of a controlled substance and fleeing, in Pike County. Authorities say 47 year old Adrian Howell was arrested the evening of January 5th, after deputies say he led them on a high speed chase. Deputies reported seeing Howell’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 27, south of Kirby. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, on the vehicle, with speeds reaching in excess of 100 miles per hour into the city of Murfreesboro. The Pursuit finally ended with the vehicle stopping near the Pike and Hempstead county line. Howell was taken into custody, and while searching the vehicle, officers say they found 10 live rounds of ammunition, a toy pistol under the drivers seat, and two clear baggies containing suspected methamphetamine in the vehicle’s console. Howell was transported to the Pike County Jail. Upon arriving at the jail, Howell was unresponsive. Deputies administered first aid and Howell was transported, by ambulance, to a hospital. Following treatment at the hospital, Howell was transported back to the Pike County Jail.
